REFUGEE
A refugee,
In my own home,
Recognised by constitution,
Suffering frustration,
Castrated by confusion,
Victim of migration,
A displaced citizen,
Marginalised indigene,
Silenced by lawlessness,
Denied all freedom,
Rejrcted by tribalism,
Ducked by nepotism,
What then am I,
A citizen or indigene?
GUN SHOT
A gun shot,
Blood flows freely,
Brains blown soundly,
Orphans left crying,
Widows seen weeping,
Patients stood sweating,
Men running and panting,
Heart beat begin slowing,
And bodies lie lifeless.
I write this few lines due the the situation many Nigerians find themselves. I was particularly pointing at the Jos (Plateau State Nigeria) crisis, where innocent people were killed for findish-ethnic interest, which was transformed into religious bigotry to attract sympathy and larger participation and support. I was born in the heart of Jos city, attended all my education in Jos. My parent were in Jos long before the national independence. And I am very much familier with the section of the Nigeria Constitution which clearly state that every Nigerian has the right to live everywhere within the country and enjoy all rights as citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Unfortunately, few undesirable element in Plateau State, most of whom are so desperate to claim power at all cost instigated their poeple and provoke religion to achieve their selfish goal. Democracy to me is simply the government of the majority, but the people that instigated politcal unrest in the state are truly the minority in the state. A tree cannot make a forest any where (one may believe) but in Nigeria, a tree not only make a forest it created a jungle.
Millions of people around the globe may find themselve outcaste in the place they call home which the law of nature proves, but are suffering unimaginable discrimination and maginalisation in their struggle to attain atleast a life of satisfaction. I have strong believe that those who are not willing to live in peace with other people are not the majority in the world. They are always the minority who agitate fear of loosing the little opportunity at their disposal and are willing to consume more than their stomarch will contain. Therefore I am appealing to all mankind to demostrate the spirit of brotherhood, exhibit a sense of accommodation, humor, content and justice. This will surely relive the world from uncalled bloodshet, mayhem and war.
There is no religion that encourages war. My religion (which I know best) teaches one to be kind to his neighbour, be generous to his guest, say good or keep silent. The wrath of the Al-Mighty is upon those who disturb peace. There is no conpulsion in religion, everybody have the right to practice his religion.
Everybody may be entitle to his opinion. You may choose to be whatever you wish to be. The law also has it level, but the God who created the universe is one to judge us right or wrong depending on our deeds.
Therefore, if we do not tolerate one another, how can we understand each other? Religion bridge the gab of tribalism, but that those not mean one should use it as a shell to his ungodly act.
